Who we are

Wheelhouse Rentals (“we”, “us”) rents cars in Costa Mesa, California. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website or rent a car, and what we do with it.

What we collect

Booking details: your name, phone number, email, rental dates, and delivery or pickup location.
Driver details: date of birth, home address, driver’s license information for everyone who will drive, and your auto insurance details.
Payment details: card information, handled by our booking provider’s payment processor. We don’t store full card numbers.
Rental records: pickup and return times and places, mileage, fuel or charge level, photos of the car’s condition (including the ones you send us), and any tolls, tickets or damage.
Vehicle location: our cars may have GPS tracking. We only use location data as California law allows, for example to find a car that’s reported stolen or hasn’t been returned 72 hours after it was due.
Website use: if we turn on website analytics, basic information such as pages visited, device type and approximate location.

How we use it

To take and manage your booking, and to deliver or hand over the car
To check that drivers are eligible to rent
To take payment and handle deposits, refunds, tolls, tickets and damage claims
To contact you about your rental
To meet legal requirements and protect our cars
To understand how people use our website and improve it

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services that help us run rentals, and only as much as each one needs:

Our online booking provider (iFleet) and its payment processor, which handle bookings made on this website
Insurance providers, if there’s an accident or claim
Toll agencies, police, courts or other authorities when the law requires it, for example for unpaid tolls or traffic citations

We don’t sell your personal information.

Cookies and analytics

This website doesn’t use advertising cookies. If we turn on Google Analytics, it uses cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google’s analytics opt-out browser add-on. The booking panel is provided by iFleet and may use its own cookies to run the booking process.

How long we keep it

We keep rental records for as long as we need them for the purposes above, including tax, insurance and legal requirements, and then delete them.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, subject to legal exceptions. We won’t treat you differently for asking. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Children

Our services are for adults who can legally rent a car. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
